‘”Feel this progression further and further back in time” – Christopher Nolan

It’s really interesting how Nolan’s idea to tell a story from ending to beginning,
The objective perspective of the movie and the subjective perspective, the forwards narrative and the backwards narrative meet to end or conclude the movie or chronologically technically the middle of the movie.

Colour sequences are subjective as the audience is in the protagonists head all the time, knowing what is going on. Black and white sequences are objective the audience is not in the protagonists head, obscuring the view of the audience visually and mentally creating mystery, a puzzle, a conundrum.

Blurt Logo designs

For my first page of experiments I tried out different ways to position text and what it would look like within a design. Throughout my logo development I went for retro approach as it will link with the target audience. I really like the grid logo as it is simple and effective.
For these logo developments I thought the grid from the style of perspective drawing was very different from my other designs as most of the designs looked similar in terms of mood and style. it will be interesting how this would look as a logo design. to improve the design is to add some colour to convey its personality and mood.
For these designs the cassette is my favourite as it conveys a more retro feel to it.
and the style for the font assists the design in terms of mood and fitting with the theme.
From this screen shot of feedback I got from my colleagues, they really like the logo on page 3 with the triangles overlapping and blurt written in the middle.

Why the 1980’s and how it links with my target audience?

since 2016 we have seen the emergence of vinyl LP’s, 80’s fashion trends, cassette tapes, also in pop culture for example Netflix’s Stranger Things, Mad Max remake (2016), Ghostbusters: Afterlife (August 2020) and synthwave which is a music genre inspired by the decade which involves a synthesizer which was a popular instrument used during the early 80’s new wave/synth pop. The 80’s has inspired other artists music and music videos.

Available transitional effects on PowerDirector

I’m really happy with using PowerDirector as an app and going forward with my project, it very similar to premier pro on the adobe software which I am unable to use due to different circumstances. The difference between the two is that Premier Pro is more in depth and features a lot more effects and gives you more options to experiment. Have in said that I believe this is the best app to use because it is easier to use. Also I can use soundtracks and images from my phone which helps the speeding process.

Using Images to create a sequence to summarize my interests and influences

I used the effect wipe soft as it represented ‘New Wave’ which was a popular music genre of the 1980’s and also the song featured in the video was ‘Save A Prayer’ by the new wave band Duran Duran which is one of my favorite songs from the decade which assisted the images and the design aspect.
